Research In Motion Ltd. dba Blackberry

Research In Motion Ltd., the maker of BlackBerry, announced pans to lay off employees.  The Company has cut its earnings outlook due to its aging smartphone line and delays in introducing new products.  These factors are affecting business faster than expected.

RIM has generated lower revenues and sold fewer BlackBerry phones for the first fiscal quarter ended May 28.  It posted the first quarterly drop in BlackBerry sales since 2005.
