Cliffs Natural Resources has said in a WARN filing that it will lay off 419 workers in Pineville, W.V.
Cliffs Natural Resources application to pump inert gas into an idled West Virginia coal mine has recently been denied by federal regulators. The mine has been idled by elevated carbon monoxide readings. Cliffs Natural Resources said that is appealing the denial of the plan for the Pinnacle Mine. The company is also evaluating other options for the mine.
